Unit History
Women in the Vietnam War served as soldiers, nurses, physicians, air traffic controllers, and intelligence officers — nearly all volunteers. The Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation estimates approximately 11,000 military women were stationed in Vietnam during the conflict, with 90% serving as military nurses. Beyond the armed forces, civilian women served with the Red Cross, USO, Catholic Relief Services, and as foreign correspondents. This piece honors their legacy.
