Named for Washington Irving Chambers — the visionary Navy officer who championed early naval aviation — USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE-11) is a Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo and ammunition ship operated by the Military Sealift Command. As part of the Combat Logistics Force, she replenishes carrier strike groups and amphibious ready groups at sea, transferring cargo via connected replenishment and vertical replenishment operations.
