Activated on June 25, 1943, the 284th Field Artillery Battalion earned its place in history across five major European campaigns — Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. Known by their motto Semper Volens — "Always Willing" — and their campaign nickname "Helpmate," these artillerymen kept the 105mm howitzers firing through some of the war's most grueling terrain.
