The 88th Infantry Division, nicknamed the "Blue Devils", was a US Army division with a history spanning both World War I and World War II. It was the first Organized Reserve division to be sent overseas and see combat. The division's distinctive DUI (distinctive unit insignia) or "Cloverleaf" emblem is a blue four-leaf clover, representing the four states from which its personnel originated. The red within the clover symbolized the artillery component of the division.
