The 761st Tank Battalion, or "Black Panthers," was an all-Black unit in World War II that fought bravely in Europe, despite facing racial prejudice. They participated in major campaigns like the Battle of the Bulge and the Siegfried Line, supporting General Patton's army and liberating numerous cities and towns. The battalion, which suffered heavy casualties, also contributed to freeing concentration camps and became the furthest east of U.S. tank units at the war's end.
