28th Infantry Division - Keystone - SSI X 300
The 28th Infantry Division ("Keystone") is a unit of the Army National Guard and is the oldest division-sized unit in the Department of Defense. It is today part of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Maryland Army National Guard, Ohio Army National Guard, and New Jersey Army National Guard. During World War II, it was given the nickname the "Bloody Bucket" division by German forces due to the shape and color of its red keystone insignia. The 28th is also one of the most decorated infantry divisions in the United States Army. In 2003, the 28th Division again led KFOR, the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. During the Global War on Terror, the Keystone Division has provided troops for Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle and several thousand troops for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
