The 14th Infantry Regiment — nicknamed the "Golden Dragons" — is one of the most decorated light infantry regiments in the United States Army. Activated through the American Civil War, the regiment went on to serve in the Boxer Rebellion, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In Vietnam, the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry operated as part of the storied 4th Infantry Division (4th ID), conducting combat operations in the Central Highlands. The regiment's legacy continued through Operation Desert Storm, Operation Gothic Serpent, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve — a lineage of service that spans generations and continents.
