The 1st Battalion, 83rd Field Artillery Regiment answered the call in 1966 — deploying from Fort Sill, Oklahoma to the jungles of Vietnam, where they served with distinction from Bear Cat and Nui Dat to Phu Bai, between Da Nang and Hue.
