United States Army Heritage Collection
Wear the legacy of the Kentucky Mounted Rifles. This long sleeve tee features the official crossed-sabers insignia of Alpha Troop, 240th Cavalry Regiment — a proud unit of the Kentucky Army National Guard that carried the mounted cavalry tradition into the modern era.
The Unit Story
The 240th Cavalry (Kentucky Mounted Rifles) was constituted in 1980 as a U.S. Army parent cavalry regiment, represented in the Kentucky Army National Guard by Troop A, 240th Cavalry, part of the 149th Armored Brigade, stationed at Owensboro. The regiment served until 1985 — a brief but storied chapter in American cavalry heritage.
