Unit History
The 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, nicknamed The Triple Nickles, was an all-Black airborne unit of the United States Army during World War II. Activated on 25 February 1943 following a recommendation by the Advisory Committee on Negro Troop Policies, these trailblazing soldiers were among the most elite in the U.S. Army — and among the most overlooked. Their story deserves to be told.
More than apparel — a tribute to the men who answered the call when the nation needed them most.
