Unit History — 9th Cavalry Regiment
Organized in 1866 at Greenville, Louisiana, the 9th Cavalry Regiment was one of the U.S. Army's original Buffalo Soldier regiments — African-American soldiers who earned their name from the Cheyenne warriors who respected their fierce fighting spirit. Stationed at Fort Union, New Mexico and posts across the frontier, the regiment served with distinction through the Indian Wars, the Spanish–American War, and beyond. Their Cavalry branch insignia — crossed sabers — remains a symbol of courage, discipline, and sacrifice.
This is more than a sweatshirt. It's a piece of American military heritage you can wear.
