The 8th Infantry Division — nicknamed “Pathfinder” — served the United States Army with distinction across three eras of conflict: World War I, World War II, and Operation Desert Storm. Initially activated in January 1918, the division went on to become one of the Army’s most celebrated infantry units, with postwar service that included a long and storied presence at Bad Kreuznach, Germany — a garrison that shaped generations of soldiers and the families who served alongside them.
