UNIT HISTORY
Activated at Fort Belvoir in 1948, the 7th Engineer Brigade became the backbone of U.S. military construction across France, Germany, and Italy. Redesignated as the 7th Engineer Aviation Brigade in 1951, the unit managed all U.S. aviation construction in Western Europe. By 1956, renamed back to the 7th Engineer Brigade, the unit led NATO construction efforts — quietly rebuilding a continent while the Cold War held its breath.
