Jersey Blues | 50th Armored Division
Born from the legacy of the 44th Infantry. Forged in the armor of the Garden State.
In the postwar reshaping of American military strength, the War Department called for a new generation of Army National Guard formations. From that transformation, the 50th Armored Division emerged — one of the first armored divisions in the entire Army National Guard — rising from the storied ranks of New Jersey's 44th Infantry Division.
With the transition came a proud inheritance: the lineage, the history, and the legendary nickname of the soldiers who came before — "The Jersey Blues." A name earned across generations of New Jersey service, now carried forward by the men and women of America's armored guardsmen.
Honor the legacy. Wear the Blues.
