- Normandy Invasion (D-Day): The regiment's first combat jump occurred on June 6, 1944, during the 82nd Airborne Division's Operation Neptune. Despite being scattered due to enemy fire and poor visibility, elements of the regiment secured Merderet River crossings and defended Graignes, preventing German reinforcements from reaching Utah Beach and earning a Presidential Unit Citation.
- Battle of the Bulge: Assigned to the 17th Airborne Division, the 507th served as ground infantry in Belgium during the German offensive in December 1944.
