At the Battle of Medina Ridge, American forces of the 1st Armored Division and the 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division clashed with Iraq’s elite Republican Guard Medina Luminous Division outside Basra, Iraq — and delivered a crushing, history-defining victory in the final hours of Operation Desert Storm.
