22nd Signal Brigade - V Corps Communications

The 22nd Signal Brigade was an MSE (Mobile Subscriber Equipment) equipped Corps Signal Brigade. It provided Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) support to The United States Army's V Corps. The 22nd Signal Brigade had 3 active duty battalions and 1 separate company. The Brigade was inactivated on 22 May 2007.

Corps Signal - Enabling Command and Control

As the Corps Signal Brigade for V Corps, the 22nd Signal Brigade provided the communications backbone that enabled commanders to control their forces. The brigade installed, operated, and maintained sophisticated communications networks including telephone, radio, data, and video systems that connected headquarters, subordinate units, and higher commands.

Signal soldiers of the 22nd Brigade operated Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE), a tactical communications system that provided secure voice and data communications throughout the corps area of operations. They installed communications nodes, laid cable, erected antennas, and maintained equipment to ensure that communications remained operational 24 hours a day.

Signal Excellence - Technical Proficiency

Signal soldiers are among the most technically proficient soldiers in the Army. They are trained in electronics, telecommunications, computer systems, and network operations. They must be able to install and maintain complex communications equipment, troubleshoot technical problems, and adapt to rapidly changing technology.

The 22nd Signal Brigade maintained the highest standards of signal operations, providing reliable communications to V Corps in garrison and during deployments. The brigade's soldiers deployed to support operations in the Balkans, Iraq, and other theaters, demonstrating their ability to establish communications in any environment.

Signal soldiers work long hours to ensure that communications remain operational. They respond to outages, conduct preventive maintenance, and continuously monitor their networks to identify and resolve problems before they affect operations. Their work is critical to mission success, as modern military operations depend on reliable communications.

Whether you served with the 22nd Signal Brigade, are a signal soldier, or appreciate the critical role of communications in military operations, this mug represents technical excellence, dedication, and the proud legacy of Corps Signal.
