656th Tank Destroyer Battalion Wo Txt X 300 Crewneck Sweatshirt
Show your pride in America's World War II tank destroyer force with this 656th Tank Destroyer Battalion crewneck sweatshirt, a warm everyday layer that pairs a storied unit insignia with lasting comfort.
The Design
This crewneck carries the 656th Tank Destroyer Battalion insignia in a clean, emblem-only layout: gold crossed rifles with "656" above and "TD" below, the classic marks of a World War II tank destroyer unit. With no added wording beyond the insignia's own lettering, the artwork lets the design speak for itself.
Tank Destroyer Heritage
Tank destroyer battalions were a distinctive type of United States Army unit in World War II, organized either as towed battalions equipped with anti-tank guns or as mechanized battalions fielding armored self-propelled guns. They were created in response to Germany's massed armored formations early in the war, and the concept called for fast, independent battalions that could race to blunt large enemy tank attacks, attached in groups or brigades to corps or field armies, though in practice they most often fought attached to infantry divisions. More than one hundred battalions were formed, and over half saw combat service before the force was disbanded shortly after the war ended.
