656th Tank Destroyer Battalion Panther Classic T-Shirt

Carry a distinctive piece of Army heritage into your everyday wardrobe with this 656th Tank Destroyer Battalion classic T-shirt. The bold circular design pairs the number 656 with a fierce panther and tracked-vehicle imagery, bringing black, gold, red, and white details together in an unmistakable centerpiece.

Bold Insignia, Everyday Comfort

Wear it for a relaxed weekend, a reunion, or time spent sharing an interest in military history. Combed ringspun cotton gives the tee a soft feel, while preshrunk fabric helps minimize shrinkage. Double-needle stitching at the sleeves and bottom hem adds a neatly finished touch.

Unit History

Activated on 3 April 1943 at Camp Bowie, Texas, the battalion arrived in England in December 1944. It disembarked at Le Havre, France, on 6 February 1945, equipped with M18s, and entered the line near Friesenrath, Germany, on 28 February. It pushed toward the Rhine River at Remagen and began crossing into the bridgehead on 7 March, converting to the M36 later that month.

In early April, the battalion supported the 9th Armored Division's sweep to help encircle the Ruhr, then moved eastward to the Mulde River. It turned south and entered Czechoslovakia near St. Sedlo on 6 May. Attachments included the 9th Armored Division and the 78th Infantry Division.
