The 52nd Operations Support Squadron (52d OSS) is the backbone of operations at Spangdahlem Air Base — performing critical functions across airfield operations, weapons and intelligence, weather, current operations, and aircrew flight equipment. The 52d OSS supports the 480th Fighter Squadron, receives and supports rotational forces, and enables a major AMC airlift hub capability.
The squadron’s Weapons and Intelligence team also supports the Wing’s nuclear mission and its geographically separated units (GSUs) with antiterrorism and force protection (AT/FP) information — making the 52d OSS one of the most mission-critical squadrons in the European theater.
