Formed in 1921 and based at Fort Cavazos, Texas, the 1st Cavalry Division is one of the most decorated combat divisions in U.S. Army history — serving in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In Vietnam, the First Team’s Medevac crews wrote some of the most heroic chapters of the war.
