The SSI. No Words Required.

For those who wore it, the 149th Armor Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia needs no introduction. This premium 15oz white ceramic mug features the brigade's SSI without text — a clean, minimalist design that lets the insignia carry the full weight of nearly two centuries of Kentucky military heritage. Bold, intentional, and instantly recognizable to anyone who served under it.

The Patch That Tells the Story.

The SSI is the most personal symbol a soldier wears — it identifies the unit, the mission, and the community of soldiers who served together. Displayed without text, the 149th Armor Brigade SSI stands on its own as a statement of pride that goes beyond words. Whether on your desk or in your kitchen, this mug is a daily connection to a lineage that stretches back to the Louisville Legion of 1839.

Unit History

The 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (formerly 149th Armor Brigade) is a unit of the Kentucky Army National Guard, headquartered at Richmond, Kentucky. Constituted on January 21, 1839 as the Louisville Legion, the unit mustered into federal service during the Mexican-American War in May 1846, reorganized in 1851, and was redesignated as the Kentucky National Guard in 1912. It mustered into federal service again at Fort Thomas in February 1917 and has continued to serve through every major era of American military history.
