The Recondo Tradition
Recondo — from reconnaissance, commando, and doughboy — was the designation given to graduates of the Army's elite Recondo School, established during the Vietnam War. The three-week course was among the most grueling in the Army's inventory: advanced land navigation, long-range patrolling, rappelling, survival, and small-unit tactics under live-fire conditions.
