Named for a Hero. Built for the Fight.
On September 29, 2006, in Ramadi, Iraq, Navy SEAL Michael A. Monsoor threw himself on a grenade to save the lives of his fellow SEALs. He was 25 years old. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor — the nation’s highest military decoration — by President George W. Bush in 2008.
The USS Michael Monsoor (DDG-1001) carries that name and that legacy. As the second ship of the Zumwalt-class destroyers, she represents the cutting edge of American naval power — stealth, advanced weaponry, and a hull form unlike anything else in the fleet. This insignia-only tee lets the ship’s emblem speak without words, for those who already know the story.
