Seabees in Afghanistan
From 2001 to 2021, Navy Seabees constructed forward operating bases, cleared IED-laden routes, built roads and bridges, and provided force protection across Afghanistan's unforgiving terrain. They were engineers and warriors — the only military specialty trained to build with one hand and fight with the other.
The Seabee Legacy
Established in World War II, the United States Naval Construction Battalions — the NCF — have served in every major conflict since. The name "Seabee" comes from the initials "CB" of Construction Battalion. Construimus, Batuimus. We Build, We Fight.
