Kiss-Cut Vinyl Decals - Army - 442nd Infantry Regimental Combat Team X 300
The 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT) was activated on February 1, 1943, during World War II, in response to the need for a segregated combat unit composed of Japanese Americans. This unit included the 100th Infantry Battalion, which had already been fighting in Europe. The majority of its soldiers were Nisei, or second-generation Japanese Americans, many of whom volunteered despite facing discrimination and internment at home. Approximately 14,000 men served in the 442nd, with about 4,000 initially trained at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.
