The 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT) was a highly decorated United States Army unit during World War II, primarily composed of Japanese Americans. It included the 442nd Infantry Regiment, the 232nd Combat Engineer Company, and the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion. The 522nd Field Artillery Battalion provided crucial fire support for the 442nd and the attached 100th Infantry Battalion. This unit is famous for its motto "Go for Broke" and for being the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in U.S. military history.
