The "Arrowhead" is the nickname and distinctive insignia (SSI) for the US Army's 36th Infantry Division, a Texas National Guard unit with a long history in both World Wars. The Division famously fought in Italy and Southern France during World War II, earning numerous campaign streamers and enduring a high casualty rate before being deactivated and later reactivated as the 49th Armored Division, with its lineage eventually being inherited by the reactivated 36th Infantry Division in 2004.
