The 16th Cavalry Regiment is a unit of the United States Army, first established in 1916. It currently consists of three squadrons (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), all assigned to the 316th Cavalry Brigade at Fort Benning, Georgia, supporting the U.S. Army Armor School. The regiment has been designated as a parent regiment under the combat arms regimental system, with its former troops integrated into its structure. Recently, the 3rd Squadron has reactivated several troops, indicating ongoing operational developments within the regiment
