The 4th Battalion, 502nd Infantry was part of the U.S. Army's Berlin Brigade, stationed in West Berlin during the Cold War. The Berlin Brigade was a unique separate brigade responsible for representing U.S. resolve in the divided city. The 4th Battalion, along with other units, was stationed at various barracks like McNair, Andrews, Roosevelt, and Turner. The Berlin Brigade was inactivated in 1994, after almost 50 years of service.
