The 10th Cavalry Regiment, known as one of the original "Buffalo Soldier" regiments, was established in 1866 and played a significant role in the post-Civil War American West. Formed as a segregated African American unit, the 10th Cavalry saw action in the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, and the Philippine-American War. The regiment was initially stationed at Fort Supply, Oklahoma, and was instrumental in maintaining peace and order during Reconstruction, building infrastructure, and protecting settlers and Native Americans.
