Cacti. 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry. 4th Infantry Division. Vietnam.
The Combat Infantryman Badge is earned in the field, not behind a desk. This premium 15oz black ceramic mug honors the Vietnam Combat Infantry Veterans of the 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment "Cacti" who served under the 4th Infantry Division "Ivy Division" — soldiers who fought through the Central Highlands and proved the Cacti standard under a new division patch in some of Vietnam's most grueling combat conditions.
The Ivy Division. The Central Highlands. The Cacti Carried On.
Created on 1 July 1916 at Douglas, Arizona, the 35th Infantry "Cacti" has a combat lineage stretching from the Battle of Ambos Nogales in 1918 through World War II and Korea with the 25th Infantry Division, and into Vietnam where the regiment's battalions transferred to the 4th Infantry Division in August 1967. Under the Ivy Division SSI, the 1st Battalion continued fighting across I Corps and II Corps through 1972 — the same Cacti warriors, a different patch, the same mission.
