About Camp Ritchie

Camp Ritchie, also known as Fort Ritchie, was a U.S. Army installation nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Cascade, Maryland. During World War II, it served as the home of the Military Intelligence Training Center (MITC) — training thousands of soldiers in interrogation, order of battle analysis, photo interpretation, and psychological warfare. Many of its graduates were European-born Jewish refugees who had fled Nazi persecution and returned to Europe as U.S. Army intelligence officers — known as the "Ritchie Boys." The installation also housed a prisoner of war camp, adding another layer to its complex wartime history. Veterans who served at Camp Ritchie and earned the American Campaign Medal were part of one of the most intellectually elite and strategically vital programs of the war.

The war was won with bullets and brains. Camp Ritchie trained the brains.

An ideal gift for Camp Ritchie veterans, WWII military intelligence historians, American Campaign Medal recipients, and WWII history enthusiasts.
