About Camp Adair and the 91st Infantry Division

Camp Adair, located near Corvallis, Oregon, was one of the largest military installations on the West Coast during World War II — at its peak housing over 40,000 soldiers. It served as the primary training ground for the 91st Infantry Division, nicknamed the "Wild West Division" and symbolized by the Fir Tree insignia representing its Far West heritage. The 91st fought with distinction in the Italian Campaign, pushing through the Gothic Line and contributing to the Allied liberation of northern Italy. Camp Adair also operated a prisoner of war camp, holding Axis POWs who worked on local farms and in the surrounding community. Veterans who served at Camp Adair and earned the American Campaign Medal were part of a generation that answered the call from the Pacific Northwest to the battlefields of Europe.

From the Oregon hills to the Italian mountains — the Wild West Division answered the call.

An ideal gift for 91st Infantry Division veterans, Camp Adair history enthusiasts, WWII Oregon veterans, American Campaign Medal recipients, and WWII military history collectors.
