The 36th Infantry Division is a United States Army Texas Army National Guard formation, also known as the "Lone Star Division" or "T-patchers". Activated in 1917, the division has fought in World War I and World War II, notably as the first American division to land on the continent of Europe at Salerno, Italy, and leading the breakout from Anzio to enter Rome. The division also has a history of supporting state and federal missions, including disaster response, border security, and recent overseas deployments.
