About the 83rd Field Artillery Regiment
The 83rd Field Artillery Regiment is a storied regiment of the Field Artillery Branch of the United States Army. The 1st Battalion, 83rd Artillery was activated in 1966 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and deployed to Vietnam in October of that year — serving until 1971 across positions at Bear Cat, Nui Dat, Xuân Lộc, and beyond.
