The 423rd Infantry Regiment was a U.S. Army unit, most famously part of the 106th Infantry Division during World War II. It is primarily known for its heavy involvement and significant losses during the Battle of the Bulge, where the regiment was encircled and many soldiers were captured. The regiment was later re-designated for Army Reserve and training purposes after the war.
