3rd Military Police Group - Criminal Investigation Division

The 3rd Military Police Group (Criminal Investigation Division), headquartered in Fort Gillem, Georgia, supports commanders by conducting criminal investigations of serious, sensitive or special interest matters; preventing crime; preserving the force and Army resources in peacetime, combat and contingency operations throughout the Group's area of operations. As of 2010, the group consisted of 4 battalions located at Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Fort Myer, Virginia, as well as the only airborne battalion in CID at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Criminal Investigation Division - Army Special Agents

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is the Army's primary criminal investigative organization. CID special agents are highly trained law enforcement professionals who investigate felony crimes including murder, rape, robbery, assault, fraud, drug trafficking, and other serious offenses. They conduct investigations worldwide, supporting Army commanders and preserving the integrity of the force.

CID special agents undergo extensive training at the U.S. Army Military Police School and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. They are trained in criminal investigation techniques, forensics, interviewing and interrogation, surveillance, and federal law enforcement procedures. CID agents work closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as international partners.

3rd MP Group - Supporting the Force

The 3rd Military Police Group provides criminal investigation support to Army installations and units throughout its area of operations. The group's battalions are strategically located to provide rapid response to criminal incidents, conduct complex investigations, and support commanders in maintaining discipline and good order.

They collect evidence, interview witnesses and suspects, conduct surveillance operations, and work with prosecutors to bring criminals to justice.
