The Brave Rifles Story
General Winfield Scott said it best after the Mexican-American War: "Brave Rifles! Veterans! You have been baptized in fire and blood and have come out steel!" That tribute became the regiment's identity — carried through the Civil War, the Indian Wars, the Gulf War's Battle of 73 Easting, and multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
