Originally constituted on December 9, 1943, as the 8th Traffic Regulation Group, this unit trained at Fort Lawton, Washington, before serving with distinction in the European Theater during World War II. The brigade participated in the Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns, playing a vital role in military logistics and transportation operations. After inactivation at Reims, France, in June 1946, the unit was reactivated at Frankfurt, Germany, in October 1949, continuing its proud tradition of service.
