From 1967 until Jan 1970 LZ Baldy was the home for U.S. Army Company C, 23rd Medical Battalion Americal Division Republic of South Vietnam. This Medical company worked to save the lives of all U.S. soldiers, enemy soldiers and civilians. The company also supported Graves Registration who took care of the deceased. C Co 23 Med Bn supported F Troop, 17th Cavalry with medics as needed for medical care while in the field.
The Vietnam War-era veterans served with Company C, 23rd Medical Battalion, attached to the 196th Light Infantry Battalion, American Division and were in San Antonio to celebrate their 12th reunion.
