52nd Signal Battalion Mission:

The 52nd Signal Battalion engineers, installs, operates, and maintains forward-based information systems, services, and network operations that enable Joint, Interagency, Multinational, Army, and Special Operations Forces. The battalion provides critical command and control services, installs and operates C4 systems, protects the force, and ensures sustainment operations.

Vietnam Service:

On August 1, 1966, the 52nd Signal Battalion was reactivated in Can Tho, Republic of Vietnam, assuming operational control of all area communications facilities in support of IV Corps and US Military Assistance Command - Vietnam Advisory Teams. Over four years, the battalion participated in 12 separate campaigns throughout Vietnam before standing down and inactivating at Fort Lewis, Washington on October 13, 1971.

Modern Era:

The unit was reactivated on July 1, 1974 in Germany and assigned to 2nd Signal Group (later redesignated 2nd Signal Brigade), 5th Signal Command, continuing its mission of providing critical communications support to Army operations worldwide.
