360th Bomb Squadron - 303rd BG

For the 360th Bomb Squadron, their eight aircraft were en
route from Biggs Field to Molesworth during the period 4
September to 24 October, 1942. These aircraft included: Ooold Sooljer,
Yardbird, Wulfe Hound, Garbage, Thumper, Shak Hak, Snap! Crackle! Pop! andBeats Me.
On board Garbage was the Commanding Officer of the 360th Bomb Squadron, Major
Richard D. Callaway, who served from 26 July 1942 until he became ill in December and
was transferred to the 3rd Station Hospital. He was succeeded by Captain Lewis E. Lyle
on 31 December 1942.
