Unit History
The 8th Personnel Command was consequently consisted in the Regular Army on 16 October 1987 and subsequently activated. The 8th Personnel Command was permanently organized under a Table of Organization and Equipment (TOE) effective 16 October 1987. It was subsequently assigned directly to the Eighth United States Army, as a Colonel-level command.[3] In 2006, as part of reorganization plan of United States Army, ever personnel command was reduced to a center. Therefore, on 30 September 2006, the 8th Personnel Command was redesignated as the 8th Personnel Center and attached to Special Troops Battalion, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, and moved to Fort Shafter in Hawaii.[4][5]
