SPARs — Women of the U.S. Coast Guard
World War II · Semper Paratus — Always Ready
In 1942, as the nation mobilized for the largest conflict in human history, the United States Coast Guard established its women’s reserve — the SPARs. Named for the Coast Guard motto Semper Paratus — Always Ready — more than 10,000 women answered the call to serve.
They filled critical roles in communications, intelligence, and administration. They freed male servicemembers for sea duty. They stood the watch with precision, professionalism, and quiet resolve. They wore the Coast Guard blue — and they wore it with distinction.
This 3D Enhanced T-Shirt honors the SPARs and the enduring legacy of the women who served with honor on the home front of World War II.
