Unit History
The 369th Infantry Regiment was originally formed as the 15th New York National Guard Regiment and was reorganized as the 369th when it was federalized for World War I. Known as the Harlem Hellfighters and the Black Rattlers, the regiment served under French command on the Western Front and was awarded the French Croix de Guerre for its service. Its legacy continues in the New York Army National Guard.
