THE IRON HORSE BRIGADE
Constituted in 1917 and built around the M1 Abrams tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the 1st HBCT is the armored fist of the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. The Iron Horse Brigade carries the First Team's legacy of mobility, firepower, and aggressive action into every deployment.
GARRYOWEN — 1ST SQUADRON, 7TH CAVALRY
Formed in 1866 and marched into history under the regimental tune "Garryowen," the 7th Cavalry Regiment has fought from the Indian Wars to Iraq and Afghanistan. 1-7 Cavalry soldiers carry that same aggressive spirit — Scouts Out — into the modern armored fight.
