The 73rd Tank Battalion — "Thunderbolts" carved its name into history across the battlefields of World War II. Forged as an independent armor unit of the United States Army, the Thunderbolts drove steel and firepower into some of the war's most decisive engagements. Their legacy carried forward through the Cold War as the 73rd Armor Regiment, and lives on today through the 73rd Cavalry Regiment.
