Typ : A veteran who served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam would have been part of the first major U.S. Army combat unit deployed to the conflict. The 173rd was heavily involved in intense fighting throughout the country from 1965 to 1971. They participated in numerous major operations and earned many accolades, including 14 campaign streamers and four unit citations. Thirteen members of the brigade received the Medal of Honor for their service.
