Unit History
Camp Mackall, located in Richmond and Scotland Counties, North Carolina — south of Southern Pines — served as the primary training ground for U.S. Army Special Forces and Airborne units during WWII. A subinstallation of Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), it remains an active training facility and the birthplace of America's elite airborne legacy.
